Goalkeepers are specialists within the team and therefore require a different approach in skills , techniques and even mindset.
At Giffnock we run specialist Goalkeeper training for kids from 8 years at the Muirend Cages on a Friday evening - 18:30 - 19:45.
If your child plays in a Giffnock team and is interested in developing their keeper skills, bring them along.
Certified SFA Goalkeeper Coaches will take the kids through -:
the 3 Golden Rules of Goalkeeping ,
skills and technique practise,
equipment advice
and assessments on recent performances ( using positive Coaching)
and most importantly, we have FUN diving around.
The position of goalkeeper is one of the most psychologically demanding on the Football field. Mistakes are final. The glory is usually reserved for the players at the other end of the field. It's not a position for everybody. You can't be stupid and play goal
