Mill Utd v GSC Milan 1999

Weather was fine, dry with slight wind

In Summary A very poor performance,
the long ball catching us out and leaving us exposed at the back every time.

It was a poor show especially the first half with
Andrew and Kieran being left 2 v 2 or 2 v 3
every time we pressed forward. The midfield
which was so good last week were in contrast
very poor with only Callum Y standing out in
the early stages.

At half time we were only 2 goals down due
to some very good stops by Callum B in goal.

The 2^nd half we were far better and in
general played the better football but
again we got caught with concentrating
on attacking and forgetting about defending
and Todd and Kieran left exposed and again
we have Callum B to thank for keeping the score “respectable”.

It was commented on that we are not
utilising the left wing enough as CP and
Owain had a lot of space but no ball to utilise.
Connor Callum and the 2 Jacks picked up and
put in a better performance in the 2^nd half with
Connor having a couple of shots Jack G getting
some good crosses in and Jack Gr having probably
the best chance of the game finding space at the back post.

It was towards the end of the 2^nd half that
Owain and CP started getting some success
down the left wing with some clever throw ins from CP.

SO some positives in the 2^nd half but we will
need to look at how we deal with teams on the break.

The good news this week it wasn’t our team
officials who got spoken to by the ref!!
