Kick Off : 15:00 Meeting Time :

Dear Readers,

I make no apology for my senility and I cannot recall anything after the second third.....so it was 4-3 down and us doing most of the pressing .......what a tremendous performance lads...... well done to you all !

Here's the brief report:

Losing a goal after just 10 seconds ,when the big U16 centre charged into the box from kick-off, was the worse possible start. But, we soon pulled things together in an excellent display of passing and pressing moves, starting in defence, well-worked one-two's through midfield and silky skills from our stand-outs up front ,Fraser and Paul, ending up with shots on target. Well done to you two. But all players contributed to a fine display of soccer in all areas in the pitch. In defence we broke up waves of attacks, often switching play through our centre backs to both wings. (Kevin and Dempsey were once again our shining lights in defence). Andy and Craig made good runs finishing with some defence-splitting passes. This is just what we've been practising. In the middle of the park we showed great determination with Graham and Liam wining tackle after tackle fighting for every inch of the pitch. We can't ask for more that this brave performance. In the end we were up against a strong, very fast and determined U16 side who caught us out in the last five minutes or so with charging runs through the middle, scoring three goals . Well done to the U16's team.

PS Lewis - what a great diving save in the top corner - that one looked in all the way!!
