Drumchapel Amateurs 2

The poor run of results continues but another game where we dominated possession and territory, had the majority of chances against the 2nd top team in the league and, overall, we looked a pretty good team.

Again, though, a couple of individiual errors from players who, otherwise, had good games, and these errors cost us.

Although it is little comfort, the Drumchapel coach said that he thought we were the best team they had played against all season. Considering the number of absentees today, the number of players who played with injuries or just returned from illness, and the fact that we have had only two competitive games in a month we should take some encouragement from this.

Most palyers played pretty well today, although I'd still like see a wee bit more dig and a wee bit more assertiveness from a couple.

Good performances from Paddy and Blair today who, although starting on the bench, made a real difference when they come on (with Paddy sneaking our only goal0. Pick of the bunch today, though, was Nicky who started his first game today. Not only was he commiteed in tackles and good on te ball, but he encouraged his team-mates throughout, encouraging them after they made mistakes. A few players in the team could learn from this.

We'll hopefully be a bit fitter next week. If we keep playing as we did today we'll get that elusive win and the season could take off from there. Let's keep it going guys, starting with TWO GOOD TRAINING SESSIONS this week, with no sign of carrying on.
